Roles and Responsibilities

Lead and manage the portfolio of partnership plans, ensuring timely delivery of quality results and capturing learnings and insights Quality delivery will primarily happen through your team of (currently 6) local BoP marketing experts spread across the program countries and in close collaboration with the country team leads of 2SCALE. Ensuring that these full-time experts can effectively do their work and deliver results in a timely manner and with the right application of the expertise of Bopinc.

Coordinate the involvement of Bopinc technical advisors from Bopinc headquarters and Kenya/Ethiopia/Nigeria offices, ensuring the technical expertise of these advisors is optimally used within the program on topics such as delivery of engaging training, (digital) innovation, behavioral change, last-mile distribution and women entrepreneurship

Serve as a member of the Program Management Team, consisting of representatives of all consortium organizations.

Take full responsibility for the optimal utilization of the budget of Bopinc within 2SCALE, and ensure timely, quality and consistent reporting on the same.

Provide thought leadership within the program on the topic of BoP marketing & distribution of nutritious food products and private sector development. This thought leadership should also be conveyed outside of the program, showcasing 2SCALE insights and results through various fora and communication channels.

Ensure alignment of 2 SCALEs work with Bopinc’s organizational strategy and other active projects within Bopinc to leverage resources.

Build on the 2SCALE partnerships to support new business development opportunities.

Next to managing the 2SCALE program, the Program Manager will actively support the Bopinc Country Lead to expand the office through Business Development and (strategic) programmatic support.

Qualifications and educational requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, development economics and/or agricultural economics

At least 10 years of work experience of which 5 years in a similar role

Experience in implementing projects in consortia with other organizations

Knowledge of the broader agribusiness sector in Africa

Deep understanding of marketing & distribution in African BoP consumer markets

Willing to frequently travel across Africa and to the Netherlands

Excellent communication skills, in both English and preferably French and strong ability to prepare clear written reports
