Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Program Officer (PO) shall be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting on programme activities of RERA.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the implementation of programmes
- Initiate, design and develop strategic and short-term implementation plans of the Association’s programmes
- Programme planning and development
- Prepare reports (monthly, quarterly and annual reports)
- Managing and monitoring programme budgets
- Working in close liaise with Association’s Portfolio Committees and Subcommittees, stakeholders and cooperating partners
- Planning and organising programme meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and other important events
- Support advocacy and communication of the Association’s programme activities
- Monitoring and evaluation of various programme activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in either: Economics, Engineering, Law or any Degree related to the energy sector or equivalent qualification; NQF Level 7;
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience including at least two (2) years of proven experience in the energy sector;
- Proven experience of work in programme planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting;;
- Strong technical knowledge/skills of the energy sector and current regional challenges;
- Driver’s licence (Code 08) is desirable;
- Tactful, team player and capacity to work on various tasks simultaneously;
- Experience in organising and managing functions/events;
- Strong writing skills;
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic stressful environment with minimal supervision;
- Excellent spoken and written English;
- NB: The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively.
