Key Functions/ Accountabilities:
With guidance and overall supervision from WiLG Programme Specialist, the Intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:
- Support the implementation of project activities related to Women’s Leadership and Governance Program particularly related to women leaders networking and capacity building programs, (e.g. preparation of trainings, workshops or advocacy actions, drafting letters and other documents);
- Draft meeting minutes or any other related documents necessary towards managing knowledge in the team;
- Provide research support towards development of concept notes and program related documents to the team;
- Review researches, guidelines, translated documents and provide comments;
- Facilitate the initiation of a female youth focused program for a sustainable and intergenerational cohort of competent women leaders
- Serving as a channel of communication and primary contact for both Senior and Junior Women’s Leaders Networks
- Undertake various administrative tasks and provision of logistics and procurement (both HR and Services) support including facilitating of travel, meeting organization etc.
- Minimum Requirements:
- The intern must satisfy the below education requirements in the area of social science, development studies, gender/women studies, political science, law or other similar subject at the university level.
- Having experience on gender related issues is a plus.
- The intern must satisfy at least one of the following internship education requirements :
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within two-years of graduation.
Language:
- Excellent communication skill (written and oral) in both Amharic and English is required.
