Key Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Business Development Director, the Program Officer will lead the development of proposals in acquiring grants and private non-sponsorship funding. The position is also responsible for monitoring and reporting of the respective grants including sustaining relations with diverse donors and building the capacity of programme implementation staff in the area of proposal writing, program designing and donor relations.

 

Resource Acquisition

  • Liaising with AP managers and Relief (HEA) implementing and support (supply chain, finance and Administration) departments, in Designing program proposals, implementation frameworks that are in line with donor and WV Support Offices requirements;
  • Work with support office, regional office and other partners in identifying opportunities for acquiring grants/ private funds
  • Lead in pre award assessment /research and selection of potential collaborating partners.
  • Lead in the review of call for proposals and conduct GO –NO GO for respective technical area.

 

Donor and Stakeholder Engagements

  • Support the creation and promotion of strategic alliances with donors, multilateral agencies, and other NGOs for purposes of resources mobilization.
  • Develop engagement plans for respective technical areas and lead engagements and communications
  • Support development of different marketing products to help profile World Vision Malawi work
  • Conduct partner mapping along respective technical lines
  • Participate in meetings to explore new opportunities and strengthen existing opportunities.

Grant Management, Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Coordinate multi-functional grant review meetings
  • Monitor grant implementation and support donor compliance
  • Coordinating grant  processes  (evaluations,  budget,  finance,  reports)  for  the  ensuring  of compliance with donor guidelines and World Vision standards.
  • Lead the review monthly, quarterly and annual reports for submission to donors and Support Offices (SOs) ensuring quality compliance and donor satisfaction.
  • Facilitate or collaborate with funding offices on the facilitation of grant design, startup, closeout workshop for grant project staff and support function staff members for each critical grant,,  locationsLilongwe, Malaw
