Essential Job Functions:
- Support the day-to-day implementation of a comprehensive work plan that aligns with the project’s objectives and donor requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and take proactive measures to keep assessments on track.
- Ensure the fieldwork compliance with project timelines and deliverables.
- Coordinate staff based at regional, Zonal, and Woreda levels in collaboration with the Project Officer if any
- Provide logistical support for the assessments, such as arranging transportation, accommodation, equipment, materials, permits, etc.
- Support communication and reporting to local stakeholders, such as local service providers, local governments, private sector actors, community members, etc.
- Promote positive working relationships with partners, communities, and local government partners, using participatory and inclusive approaches.
- Coordinate with local partner organizations and institutions in the water sector.
- Participate in meetings and consultations with the Regional Government.
- Act as a bridge between various project stakeholders to facilitate communication and cooperation at regional level.

- Work closely with the Project staff on field planning, monitoring, and reporting, using appropriate tools and formats, such as work plans, activity reports, progress reports, etc.
- Participate in meetings and consultations with the Regional Government.
- Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps policies and procedures, as well as donor rules and regulations.
- Work closely with security staffs in assessing and reporting the project area security related issues.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Support the monitoring of project expenditures and financial reports to maintain financial accountability.
- Assist and align team members with information, tools, and resources to improve performance and reach objectives.
- Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.
- Provide field-level facilitation support to other team members for innovative action and exchange information, coordinate activities, and develop team spirit in project management.
- Minimum Requirement:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, social, natural sciences, or related field.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in WASH related programming, preferably WASH related research and assessments management.
- Familiarity with the issues of water and sanitation systems in municipal water and sanitation facilities.
- Demonstrated working experience in the Amhara region is highly desirable, preferably in leading WASH program implementation or research activities.
Language:
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
