- Responsible for expansion of pharmaceutical production with focus on vaccine production in Ghana
- Advising Ghanaian and international private sector players on setting up pharmaceutical production in Ghana with a focus on vaccine production
- Mediation between (development) banks and the private sector
- Mediation between international and Ghanaian producers in the acquisition of licenses and contract work
- Technical and content-related conception and organisational implementation of measures and activities as well as the use of appropriate instruments, including grants, local subsidies, awards
- Management of external service providers
- Coordination of the implementation of joint activities with relevant sector, regional and global projects and other organizational units of GIZ as well as external actors
- Participation and contributions in events, symposia or conferences
- Technical, strategic and operational support of the component management
- Your Profile
- Completed university degree in economics or business administration
- Many years of work experience in the capital market, in the area of access to finance for the private sector or investment banking; mergers & acquisitions, innovation & investment promotion
- Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology private sector
- In-depth knowledge of (new) financing instruments for pharmaceutical companies in Africa; through the private sector, development banks, foundations and bilateral donor organizations
- Knowledge of the international debate on the development of pharmaceutical production, especially vaccine production, in Africa; knowledge of this through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and Team Europe Engagement in Africa is an advantage
- International experience in an African country, preferably sub-Saharan Africa desired
- Highly analytical, structured thinking and extensive knowledge of digital applications
- Social and intercultural competence, communication skills, negotiation skills
- Fluent English skills, basic knowledge of German and French is an advantage
