Primary Responsibilities
• Overseeing the programmatic implementation and monitoring of field activities in coordination
with the local partner and stakeholders.
• Ensure adequate operational support to field-level activities and oversee their timely execution.
• Monitor and review the overall commodity movements, such as food deliveries, storage,
transport, and distribution at the site
• Conduct regular meetings with local administration, implementing partners, and staff on the
commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements, and other relevant issues.
• Coordinate with both Management and Monitoring & Evaluation teams to ensure that lessons
learned are captured and used to improve the effectiveness of project delivery
• Support field procurement award processes to achieve activity deliverables, including drafting
scopes of work for service providers and implementing partners, evaluating technical
deliverables, and setting deadlines to ensure on-time delivery of project outputs.
• Prepare periodic progress reports.
Other Responsibilities
• Serve as project liaison to the subdivisional, divisional, and regional government authorities and
the stakeholders to ensure all project stakeholders clearly understand the goals and objectives
• Engage with relevant key stakeholders and CBOs, NNGOs INGOs, and UN agencies at
community, subdivisional, divisional, and regional levels to ensure access and support of
interventions
• Mentor and support the team to improve staff welfare and efficient performance
• Oversee the planning of activities and the assignment of necessary resources to implement field
activities effectively and efficiently.
• Supervise technical staff in the field and provide support to project implementation through
troubleshooting and eliminating blocking points
• Monitor output achievement, cash burn rates, and ensure time completion of projects through
review of monthly work plans to ensure accurate budget forecasting and efficient cash flow
management
• Ensure that relevant project information is up-to-date and available for reporting purposes
• Ensure coordination and complementarity amongst projects within the area of intervention
• Conduct periodic field visits to project sites to assess activities and ensure efficient use of
resources
• Ensure beneficiary feedback mechanisms are in place through regular communication with
beneficiaries and meetings with stakeholders
• Identify potential local partners based on an assessment of complementarity and added value
• Establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships with local authorities
and obtain required authorizations and buy-in for Nascent’s activities at the area level
• Lead the identification and assessments of needs to identify opportunities for new projects
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting as per Nascent’s’ country work plans
• Analyze the security context at the field level and in close collaboration with management and
local stakeholders to minimize the risk of fraud and corruption by ensuring adherence to Nascent
procedures
• Support other activities as needed and assigned by the Country Director
Qualifications required
• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Community Development, International
Development, Development Management, Humanitarian Assistance and or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of extensive project management experience (management, planning, staff
development, and training skills) in emergency and development programs.
• Demonstrated ability in staff team building, developing positive working relationships among
staff and with external stakeholders.
• Proven capabilities in leadership and management required
• Ability to work well and punctually under pressure
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and flexibility in cultural and organizational terms
• Knowledge of local language and regional experience is an asset
• Self-motivated, possessing high standards of ethics,
• Proven personal integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and respectfulness
