Responsibilities:
- Ensures that planning and implementation of the project activities are in accordance with the program principles, approaches, and procedures of the organization.
- Works closely with other project staff and partners in planning and implementing the project activities.
- Ensures effective implementation of the project activities as per the set plan of action and as per the donor requirement.
- Makes sure that all plans are down to annual, quarterly, and weekly basis and same is done for by project officers and facilitators.
- Make regular checks of project budget spent against the plan and co-work on budget forecast together with the WLiE project manager based in Mekelle and WLiE advisor based in Addis.
- Provide technical and managerial oversight and guidance to GBV/PSS officers and Community facilitators regarding implementation of WLiE and EMAP model and WGSS activities.
- Assess and identify technical assistance needs in regard to technical skills, supervision support, etc., for staff.
- Oversee & support the day-to-day implementation of program activities including psychosocial support, follow-up, and advocacy.
- Provides support for all trainings, workshops, and meetings conducted at zonal/woreda level.
- Conduct induction/orientation, training, and capacity building of staff on WLiE and EMAP activities.
- Ensure adequate Gender, Safeguarding and Protection mainstreaming across the program cycles.
- Contribute to the joint SGBV Working Group and other protection platforms in Zonal and Woreda level.
- Coordinate and monitor the overall implementation of WLiE model activities based on their established indicators, including collecting, and analyzing data and information for reporting.
- Provide technical assistance for GBV/PSS officers on implementation of Women and Girls Safe Spaces, and GBV service referral linkage activities.
- Oversee and support implementation of the WLiE methodology with each of the four project location field officers.
- Coordinate activities that engage men and boys from the community and male leaders to participate in activities that promote positive masculinity, and which support the objectives and initiatives of the WLiE programming.
- Support GBV/PSS officers and Community facilitators to conduct EMAP sessions.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for WLiE, and engaging men and boys programming to be connected and strengthened by joint implementation.
- Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- A. Degree in gender, social sciences, psychology/social work Management Information Systems, gender studies, development studies, Statistics or related.
- A. Degree in Social Sciences, psychology/social work, gender studies, Development Studies, or related.
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with first degree or 3 years relevant work experience for graduate degree in MEAL, GBV, Protection and Gender Equality and women empowerment and related tasks
- Computer skills (Word processing, power point presentation, database management); data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English Language
Language Requirement:
- Local language is (Afar-af) is required.
