- The job role is to install, operate, and repair all substation equipment and its protection devices, and protect lives and properties for the achievement of corporate targets.
Job Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains and troubleshoots relay and control equipment in injection sub-stations.
- Carrying out a review of wiring drawings for the injection substation.
- Carrying out system analyses including relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, and short circuit studies.
- Performs periodic tests on substation equipment to determine performance.
- Monitor transmission relay operations identify mal-operations and suggest corrective action.
- Carrying – out impedance, short circuit, and settings calculations using relevant power tools.
- Strict compliance with the substation maintenance schedule.
- Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform other sundry assignments as directed by the Technical Engineer.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering or any related field.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
- 0 – 3 years of practical experience in a related field within a power company.
