Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Assistant will support the implementation, maintenance and continuous development of our Quality Management System (QMS) within Target Malaria. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, internal SOPs, and international guidelines (e.g., GCP, GLP, ISO) across all project functions. The incumbent will report to the Quality Assurance Officer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of documentation in the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support the preparation and coordination of internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standard, in accordance with our annual audit schedule.
- Assist with quality control activities.
- Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Keep up to date with all relevant quality and research ethics legislation and compliance requirements.
- Help coordinate training sessions and assist with maintaining training records for staff.
- Support the implementation of risk management practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QMS.
- Collaborate closely with all project functions at a local and global level to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the project PI and/or Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Quality Management, or related field,
- Previous experience in quality assurance/management, preferably in research, clinical or laboratory setting is desirable,
- Familiarity with GCP, GLP, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams) and willingness to learn QMS tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
