The Quantity Surveyor will ensure that building Projects remain within estimated budgets. The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with preparing budgets , reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, analysing bills of quantities, as well as building relationships with material suppliers.
Responsibilities

Analyzing construction drawings and bill of quantities and prepare resources required to execute work at each level

Scrutinizing material costs against contracts to ensure the best deals are done.

Preparing reports, analyzing contracts, budgeting, conducting risk assessment and produce relevant project documentation.

Prepare and submit tender documents

Assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information available to prepare tender

Prepare and issue material supply enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt

Pricing of bills of quantities

Maintain contract documentation and advise on pretender and post contract matters

Carry out take offs for material procurement

Take off quantities, prepare and submit interim and final valuations

Manage and value variations

Recommend to management on where to source materials and equipment for executing the work
Qualification, Experience and Competencies

A minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution
-
Those with Diploma/ Degree must have a minimum of 10- and 5-years or relevant work respectively
