We are looking for candidates who have a solid understanding of migration challenges in your region, and have proven experience of leading and delivering on projects, as well as relevant knowledge of the Global Compact for Migration.
As a Regional Project Lead, you will be responsible for the organisation, facilitation, logistics and outreach of your region’s consultation process. As well as producing a comprehensive Regional Policy Brief focused on youth recommendations to Member States on solutions to migration challenges in your region. You will be supported by the broader MYCP Coordination Team, however, a high degree of individual leadership and proactivity is expected.
The role is part-time, with an expected weekly commitment of 5-8 hours. The appointment will last for the duration of the project (October 2024 – June 2025). All aspects of the project will be done remotely
Total compensation: 3500-4000 EUR maximum (dependent on location and experience)
Timeline of Activities
This project intends to be complementary to the GCM Regional Review process as far as possible. However, in all cases that will not be possible. Regional implementation proposals (and budgets) are to be finalised by 1 October 2024. Implementation of activities is therefore to be coordinated between mid-late October and June 2025, with consultations to be staggered and spread out across the year. All Policy Briefs intend to be published by June 2025, with actions taken after in the run-up to the IMRF based on youth recommendations.
Essential Criteria
Aged between 18-30, with the ability to work part-time for the duration of the project
Highly organised with planning focused role experience
Proficiency in English, and a regional language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or other as relevant)
Solution-oriented with problem solving and project management skills
Proven stakeholder management skills, with excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, rapport building, and experience dealing with grassroots communities to key partners
Highly collaborative, team player, strong influencer, and relationship builder
Excellent communication skills, with clarity, accuracy and concision orally and in writing
Strong attention to detail, and a knack for creativity, resourcefulness, and efficient use of funds, and on-time delivery
Good research and analytical skills, with knowledge of international/regional migration policy
Desirable Skills
Experience of local community engagement around migration, displacement, and sustainable development
Experience with report/policy writing and communication technologies
Experience dealing with Member States, UN Agencies, and large non-profit organisations
Large regional youth network
Good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
