• As a Research and Development (R&D) Manager for our organisation, a leading QSR in Nigeria, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development of new menu items, improving existing recipes, and ensuring the overall quality and consistency of food products.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and drive the culinary and product development process, keeping our organisation at the forefront of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and optimization of the QSR’s menu items, ensuring they meet customer expectations for taste, quality, and value.
• Identify emerging food trends and incorporate them into the menu, while considering cost and feasibility.
• Develop and refine recipes for all food products, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand standards.
• Conduct taste tests and sensory evaluations to fine-tune flavor profiles and texture.
• Monitor and control the cost of ingredients and recipes to maximize profitability while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new product development.
• Supervise and mentor R & D production staff, and other team members involved in product development.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Work closely with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to execute new product launches and promotions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to make informed R & D decisions.
• Participate in market research and consumer surveys to gather feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of recipes, specifications, and processes for all menu items.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for executive leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A First Degree in related field
• Proven experience as a R & D Manager or similar role in a high-volume food service establishment, preferably within the Quick Service Restaurant industry.
• In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and culinary trends.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
