The Research Assistant will work on our ICEMR transmission project – supporting the project both in the field and laboratory with guidance from the Research Fellow to ensure high quality data are collected to address scientific aims.

Duration of contract: The initial contract will be for one year with possibility for further extension based on performance and availability of funding.

Reporting Line: He/ She will be reporting to the Research Fellow

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include:

• Collect mosquitoes in the field using traps and other standard methods

• Perform morphological mosquito identifications

• Work with the Molecular Laboratory to finalize identification of mosquitoes and blood samples –tracking the samples from field to laboratory to database.

• Conduct field surveys

Required education, skills and experience

A minimum qualification of Bachelor’s Degree in Biological sciences will be considered. Those with entomological research and statistical experience will have an added advantage.

Remuneration
