NAWEC seeks to recruit a dedicated Research Officer to design, conduct, and analyze research that improves the effectiveness and impact of our CHW-led healthcare services. This role involves, among others, evaluating current practices, identifying areas for improvement, and generating evidence-based recommendations to optimize community health outcomes. The Research Officer will be responsible for collecting, optimizing, and disseminating information using different research methodologies to inform policy, training, and practice. By conducting research studies and promoting a culture of evidence-based decision-making, the officer will contribute to the development of ethical and sustainable NAWEC, ultimately leading to improved community health programs and services nationally and globally.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Public Health; Statistics, Population and reproductive health; or social sciences with specific training in research methodologies and research ethics.
- She/he must have at least two years of Operations Research experience in relevant health programs with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of health research; implementation research and research grant writing.
- Skills in abstract writing are a requirement for this job.
- Proficiency in various MS officer packages and working knowledge of English and commonly used local languages is a necessity.
- Must be trust-worthy, flexible, reliable, and able to work under pressure, with the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
