Function:

Retail Programs  

  • Development, management, and execution of country retail network plan in line with the retail business strategy. Evaluation, development, execution, and administration of all retail projects.
  • Profit and Loss Optimisation – Review and challenge retail station P&Ls as presented by the Territory Managers.
  • Training – Identify the Training needs and to be point of contact for the deployment of all Retail Training, Retail Excellence and Station Operational Excellence Requirements and Delivery
  • FMCG Research –gather research and develop implementation strategies with Country Retail Manager
  • Customer Research – identify and analyse the key components of customer behaviour to improve marketing insights.
  • Ensure all retail sites, leases and contracts are valid and properly documented as per regulations.
  • Ensure an efficient and on time delivery of projects, develop and follow up  a clear delivery process in collaboration with the construction and procurement teams

Convenience Retail and Non-Fuel

  • Subject matter expert for development and implementation of the Convenience Retail Strategy
  • Ghana focal point on Retail Non- Fuel Retail (NFR), on Convenient Retail projects, management (Volumetric and Financial Targets) and development and expansion of non-fuel opportunities.
  • Manage relationships, contracts and rental income from non-fuel retail business
  • Responsible for (Business Case development) for all capital investment programmes and execution of disposal plans and ensuring timely sign off and execution

Marketing and Promotions

  • Support Regional Marketing team to develop and implement a Retail Marketing Plan for the country and act as a local focal point for Marketing including dealing with agencies
  • Work with Puma Lubricants team to deploy marketing promotions and activations.
  • Brand Equity and Awareness Programs

HSSE and Compliance

  • Ensuring all retail sites have valid licenses, permits and compliant with regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure all HSSE KPIs are met and regularly reviewed with Compliance team for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Programs: Deliver outstanding performance in supporting retail department (Fuels, Lubricants and Non-Fuel) in finding and negotiating new network sites (NTIs and NTPs) in line with the country network plan.

Retail Programs: Deliver outstanding performance in supporting retail department with supply/lease agreement renewals and disposal plans.

Retail Programs: Maximising opportunities within the existing network along with achieving HSSE, Financial and Operational targets.

Retail Programs: To ensure that objectives related to Real Estate and Retail Community programmes are achieved

Retail Operations: To ensure full implementation of the company policy and procedures in execution of land/property acquisitions, new builds, refurbishments, renewals, improvements, and disposal programs.

Convenience Retail: Responsible for (Business Case development) for all capital investment programmes and execution of disposal plans

Retail Projects: Track project implementation in close liaison with Operations/Construction, Finance, Procurement, and Retail teams. Periodic meetings with all related partners and departments to gain an understanding of issues and finding solutions to deliver projects on time, safely and in line with company policies and procedures.

Retail Projects: Post Investment Analysis of Retail projects and support in closure of any identified gaps between planned and actual performance

Requirements:

Mandatory Education:

Tertiary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales  or FMCG related

Experience: 

  • At least 5 years working experience in retail commercial management.
  • Experience within the fuel industry, project management and network development is an advantage.
  • Experience and understanding of management analysis and reporting.

Skills: 

  • English language and local language.
  • High level of commercial and financial acumen.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office.
