Major Responsibilities
1) Safety and Security
- Develop and implement the National Office (NO) safety and security strategy in alignment with WV corporate security policy to ensure the operational priorities of the National Office are appropriately supported.
- Lead the periodic strategic review of field contingency plan and measurement of minimum-security guidelines implementation in all WV national and field-based entities.
- Ensure that regular monthly checks are conducted to ensure emergency equipment such as generators, diesel, bunkers, and fire extinguishers are in working order.
- Ensure that most World Vision staff are Supported with SAINT training (hostile environment awareness training) and that International Staff attend HEAT training.
- Ensure that information from security network meetings is disseminated to relevant managers and staffs.
- Maintain appropriate relations with local and national government in coordination with the ND.
- Conduct Risk Assessment for new programs, as indicated in Go-No-Go decisions.
2) Team Leadership and Management
- Provide leadership and management to the safety and security team to perform high-quality of services
- Ensure effective performance management processes according to WV policies are implemented.
3) Enterprise Risk Management
- Identify significant organizational risks and update the ERM risk register. Develop a plan with risk mitigation interventions and implement them as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of Arabic communication skills an added advantage.
- Ability to travel in country to all states and across the border for training, assessment, regular monitoring and evaluation a must.
- A high level of diplomacy and networking skills is required.
- Strong capacity building and facilitation skills
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina
- Ability to manage work life without supervision.
- Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
- Ability to maintain performance expectations in psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- University Degree in Security Management, Business Administration or an equivalent.
- Professional training in transport management is an added advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Strong experience in managing staff, partners and facilitating capacity building.
- Strategic thinking skill, strong in managing people and problem-solving abilities, networking and negotiating skills.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
- Field-Based (National office).
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and stay in different location including camping if accommodations are not available. This travel will require 50% of the time.
