The School Health Project Officer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating school-based health programs aimed at improving the physical, mental, and social well-being of students in Uganda. He/she will ensure that the key stakeholders are mobilized and health sensitization programs conducted to promote a growing culture of Wellness.

- Identify Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions in their areas of jurisdiction.
- Laise with school management to mobilize for their buy-in into the project.
- Mobilize Teachers and Parents through Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) and school Board of Governors.
- Ensure Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are signed with each of the identified schools.
- Popularize the program through radio talk shows, Television shows, social media platforms.
- Generate IEC materials, brochures and fliers for marketing the school health program.
- Organize and coordinate the implementation of school health medical camps at the beginning of each campus semester, during visitation days, parent days, sports days, general assembly’s etc.
- Work with cultural and religious institutions to organize health sensitization programs for adolescents and youth.
- Work with student leadership in schools and guild councils for universities and schools of higher learning to train leaders.
- Document key lessons learnt, best and promising practices for dissemination at district, regional and international health meetings and conferences.
- Generate abstracts and manuscripts for publication in peer review journals for the school health program.
- Generate abstracts from the experiences derived from the school health program.
- Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and disseminate to the key stakeholders.
- Organize quarterly feedback and performance review meetings to provide feedback to the key stakeholders and heads of institutions.

Minimum Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Education, Social Sciences, SWASA, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Nursing, or a related field, and fully registered / licensed with the relevant professional councils.
Required Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and implementing school health programs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and a local language for the areas of operation is an advantage
