a) Shall be responsible to the Principal.
b) Shall be responsible for the development, control, management and coordination of all library and information services of MUBS.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide strategic leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of the School Library.
2. Develop and manage the Library collection in order to support the research scholarship, teaching and learning goals of MUBS.
3. Develop, manage and maintain library systems to ensure access meets teaching and research needs, and integrate with other MIS Systems on Campus.
4. Provide access to library resources and services via the web.
5. Provide easy and extensive access to the library’s content and services in order to support the research scholarship and teaching goals of the School.
6. Plan and review space requirements to provide an environment that promotes and supports teaching, learning and research.
7. Manage library spaces and facilities to ensure they are best utilized and maintained.
8. Undertake effective planning and management of the Library and its staff, and to work in partnership with external organizations. 9. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal from time to time.

1. An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or related field from a reputable institution.
2. A Masters Degree in Library Science/Records & Archives Management/Information Systems/Information Technology.
3. PhD in Library Science/Information Technology/Information Systems.
4. Applicant must be the first author of at least 50% of their publications. 5. Twelve (12) years professional experience in library work.
6. Nine (9) new recognized publications in the area of specialization.
7. Information Literacy instructions.
8. Contribution to community.
9. A valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) from Uganda Revenue Authority.
10. Must be a citizen of Uganda aged below 55 years at the time of application.
