RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and analyze expenditures while forecasting financial needs.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and reports for decision-making.
- Review and approve payment vouchers, journal entries, and authorize financial transactions.
- Establish and maintain systems for cost analysis and early detection of cost overruns.
- Collaborate with various departments to implement cost-saving strategies and financial efficiencies.
- Provide expert financial judgment and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to contextualize financial and accounting data for business insights.
- Coordinate accounting operations and advise management on financial policies and best practices.
- Implement and monitor budgetary controls and financial reporting procedures.
- Design, review, and manage financial and accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior accountants to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in their work.
- Ensure strict adherence to tax regulations and other statutory financial obligations.
- Oversee the timely closing of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Interpret and enforce financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Maintain strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing audit recommendations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize financial risks.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or an equivalent certification.
- 5-7 years of experience managing financial operations for a project or similar organization.
- 2-3 years of experience working with an international NGO, using accounting systems/software, and handling administrative functions.
- An active membership in the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in Tanzania.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Full fluency in Swahili and excellent written and oral communication in English.
