Key Responsibilities
Contributing to internal team building (30%)
- Developing, piloting, and implementing internal systems related to strategic and work planning, budgeting and financial management, team meetings and reflection spaces, and donor reporting in coordination with the relevant functional teams
- Contributing to team culture building, such as facilitating agendas for team meetings; leading team building efforts at team retreats; and engaging in other organization-wide working groups representing the MERL team related to topics such as DEI or others.
Supporting team communications, dissemination, and web-presence (30%)
- Supporting the development of regular research communications products for the Teach For All network including a regular research newsletter, the development of research briefs and other key dissemination products
- Support the administration and logistics related to research conferences and other in -person events
- Maintain the MERL team’s publicly available content on the Teach For All website and a soon-to-be launched new resource hub
Managing project team workflow, systems, deliverables on select MERL projects (40%)
- Driving the day-to-day execution of the project work according to project plans and leading internal coordination efforts for project teams
- Coordinating consultations with key partners or conducting background research to inform project strategy and planning
- Supporting project work planning and the execution of key project tasks (for research projects, this may involve developing surveys or qualitative data collection plans, survey development, data collection, analysis, and results visualization or write-up for project tasks)
- Creating project deliverables, including reports, slide decks, and oral presentations to inform decisions and actions of key stakeholders
- Developing strategic communications such as blog posts or research briefs to disseminate results
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Relevant degree in education, public policy, public administration, economics, or other relevant field
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience if the candidate has a Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 1 year of work experience if candidate has a master’s degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write clear and concise technical memos and documents and accessible stakeholder-facing memos, briefs, and presentation materials
- Ability to anticipate needs, exercise good judgment, and complete tasks on tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Entrepreneurial attitude and collaborative disposition comfortable working in an international setting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and working styles
- Project management experience including systems for tracking external engagements, outreach, and follow ups
- Experience creating visual knowledge products and research briefs to share with various stakeholders and audiences
Travel and Hours
- Travel: This position requires 10-20% travel. Occasional international travel may be required for conferences and global gatherings. All travel will adhere to local travel guidelines.
- Flexible Schedule: Due to the global nature of our work, this role requires flexibility to accommodate early morning or late evening calls across various time zones.
