The AquaTrade project is designed to create jobs within Nigeria’s fisheries value chain for women and youths by providing capacity building training and facilitating access to market and finance with the aim of boosting trade in fish and value-added fish products.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data collection tools and systems.
- Conduct statistical analysis using software packages.
- Develop and apply economic models to analyze trade flows, market trends, and policy impacts.
- Develop market forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Create clear and compelling data visualizations for reports and presentations.
- Prepare and present data analysis reports.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting for policy briefs.
Basic Qualifications:
- A B.Sc. in Economics, Statistics, or a related field with at least 5 years relevant experience, alternatively a Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related field with at least 3 years relevant experience.
- Proficiency in statistical software packages is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in agricultural economics.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or policy briefs.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis and economic modeling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent data visualization and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
