- Develop and implement global- and country-specific HR policies and procedures that comply with local labor laws and regulations as well as JSI policy, and ensure overall global HR compliance.
- Partner with and advise country-based business leaders on the development and implementation of HR strategies to support business needs. Develops strong relationships to strategically advise on full cycle employment issues related to recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, staffing plans, performance management, learning and development, talent management, engagement, safety and security protocols, etc.
- Deliver innovative ways of developing organizational and people capabilities, to enhance the strategic direction of the organization globally.
- Collaborate with in-country HR counterparts and teams to ensure consistent and effective HR practices and to solve complex HR issues while serving as a resource to evaluate and strengthen the capacity through training and guidance in complex situations and environments.
- Lead, advise, and collaborate with in-country HR and other functional leaders during project start up, project reporting, and project close out. Activities may include heavy recruitment efforts and the development of an in-country employment manual and safety and security manual during start-up, mid-term and end of year reporting/reviews, staffing plans and employment phase out during close out, etc.
- Advise and support country office HR Directors/Managers to undertake and introduce innovations and efficiencies for full employee lifecycle activities.
- Lead and ensure effective full cycle employment efforts for International Division staff assigned to the Boston office, including: recruitment, onboarding, orientation, performance management, offboarding, and termination.
- Manages, develops and drives the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that align with overarching business priorities and goals
- Support JSI’s business development efforts, which includes leading the recruitment and sourcing efforts for key personnel and/or leading the development of the personnel components of proposals.
- Lead/contribute to corporate efforts to improve/refine company systems, processes, policies, compliance, guidelines, philosophy, etc. related to HR, promoting global consistency of application and implementation.
- Collaborate across the HR team and the HR Department to share knowledge, lessons learned, and tools, improving efficiencies and adding value.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, HR certification and/or Masters’ degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in international HR, with at least 3 years of experience holding a management/leadership role related to HR.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, onboarding, orientation, performance reviews, and performance management required.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to align HR strategies with business goals and communicate this to a wider audience.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience working with donor organizations, such as USAID, Gates, CDC, etc.
- Proven cross-cultural interpersonal and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
