• The Senior ICT Server, Storage, and Backup Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s server infrastructure, storage solutions, and backup systems. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all server and storage environments, as well as implementing effective backup and disaster recovery strategies. The Senior Administrator will collaborate with other ICT teams and stakeholders to support business operations and IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Server Administration

• Administer and manage server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Perform regular server maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Monitor server health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.

Storage Management

• Oversee the organization’s storage solutions, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and cloud storage.
• Implement and manage storage allocation, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Monitor storage usage, and perform regular storage health checks and maintenance.

Backup And Recovery

• Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• Manage backup systems, including scheduling, monitoring, and verification of backups.
• Perform regular disaster recovery tests and maintain documentation for recovery procedures.

Security And Compliance

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect server and storage environments from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to data protection and IT security.

Performance Monitoring

• Utilize monitoring tools to track server and storage performance metrics.
• Analyze performance data to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
• Provide regular performance reports and recommendations for improvement.

Troubleshooting And Support

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for server, storage, and backup-related issues.
• Collaborate with other ICT teams to resolve complex problems and implement solutions.

Documentation And Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, storage architectures, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Prepare and present regular reports on system performance, capacity, and incidents to management.

Project Involvement

• Participate in ICT projects involving server, storage, and backup systems.
• Support the planning, implementation, and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, X86 Server) are preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in server, storage, and backup administration.
• Proven experience with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), storage solutions, and backup software.
