To manage and direct and lead the Finance Operations team, responsible for the provision of accurate and high-quality financial information for the senior management team to support decision making and functioning, this includes operating in a constantly changing environment and ensuring:

Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Make certain that the financial operations activities meet world class benchmarks
- Ensure execution of the strategy to operate as a least cost operator
- Operations in the various sections are operating optimally; this is achieved by ensuring that processes are in place for the control and recording of transactions in these areas.
- Compile the financial operations reporting, key functional performance in terms of each of the activities responsible for plus requirements of statutory bodies to ensure proper feedback is given and compliance to standards are met
- Ensure that financial reporting is compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Guarantee that Financial Risk Management is integrated in all financial activities
- Interface with local and international financial institutions, consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
- Provide other business units and management with support to meet their requirements and to provide financial leadership and guidance
- Manage projects to improve business efficiencies, reduce inputs and automate processes
- Implement processes for the control and recording of fixed assets from cradle to grave (liaison with other departments where necessary)
- Manage all revenue to gross margins and perform revenue reconciliations
- Initiate and oversee fixed asset management policies and procedures and reporting thereof
- Ensure alignment of financial policies processes and procedures with the business goals of operation
- Ensure compliance to local regulations and laws within Financial Operations department’s scope of responsibilities
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance)/ Auditing Degree/Honours
- Professional Certification or studying towards CIA, CA/ACCA, CFE
- Membership in good standing with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and/or Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
Experience:
- 5-7 years working experience of which 2 years must be in a management role in a financial management / management accountant function
- At least three (3) years’ experience in internal audit or external audit with a reputable audit firm, specializing in business process assurance, financial and operational audits.
- Previous exposure and experience in performing and leading risk assessments as well and development and execution of audit programs
- Knowledge of the telecommunication industry an added advantage
