The resource geologist is required to ensure all requisites and critical data is generated to
allow for building and updating of the mineral resource block models for the mine.
Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):
• Primary custodian of the geological (acQuire) database.
• Ensure all completed drill holes are captured in the acQuire database.
• Ensure all capture drill holes have meet the set pass/ fail QA QC standard.
• Ensure QA/QC protocols, drill core property tests such as specific gravity (SG and
ore mineralogy) are done.
• Planning of underground delineation drill holes to increase drill hole data in low
confidence resource categories as directed by the Senior Mineral Resource
Geologist.a
• Updating of all relevant orebody and Mineral Resource wireframes.
• Ensure the grades used in the POP monthly plans are as estimated from the block
models.
• Manage the weekly, monthly stope reconciliation reports.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mineral Science (Geology) or equivalent.
• Competence certificate in Geological modelling will be added advantage.
• Member of Geoscience professional body.
• Two to four years’ experience in a Resource or similar role in underground or open
cast mining.
• Practical experience in use of application software such as Datamine, leapfrog,
Vulcan and or Surpac.
• Practical experience in use of Excel & other related packages to manipulate data
