Job description

Supervise shift operations of assigned area of Power Plant to ensure efficient running of operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To look after the shift operations of assigned area of Power Plant efficiently.
  • Monitoring & Control of Parameters for all the equipment in the assigned area.
  • Recording of all the operating parameters and maintaining records of respective area.
  • Proper Handling of emergencies in respective assigned area.
  • Independently handling the power plant control room operation.
  • Independently handling the operation and control of DCS.
  • To manage process and service units startups and shutdowns competently without affecting units that are to remain online.
  • To assist the shift manager for handling emergencies
  • To look after the shift operations of assigned area efficiently and effectively to avoid stoppage/trip of plant equipment due to human error.
  • Independently handling the operation of BOP area.
  • To ensure housekeeping of the assigned area.
  • Preparation of SOP containing system description, logics & interlocks/operating procedures on the assigned area and presenting the SOP for in-house training program.
  • Updating and maintaining the records of each activity and maintenance history of the assigned area and updating the important parameters in control room PC for analysis.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power option, or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in gas based power plant with minimum of Two (2) year experience in Control room.

Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of power plant systems and interactions among systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good networking and teaming skills.
  • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills
  • Creativity and an ability to think out of the box
  • Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of SAP production report preparation
  • Good knowledge of various applicable ISO standards
