The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the growth of the shop’s reputation. 

Key Responsibilities 

Daily Operations 

  • Open and close the store as scheduled. 
  • Handle sales when the shop is busy. 
  • Answer phones and address customer inquiries. 
  • Collect payments and maintain accurate inventory records. 

Staff Supervision

  • Manage and oversee a team of 2 employees. 
  • Handle staff scheduling, training, and payroll. 
  • Ensure staff greet customers professionally (“Yes Ma’am,” “Yes Sir”) and maintain a positive attitude. 

Customer Service 

  • Provide excellent customer service, including handling complaints and assisting VIP customers. 
  • Maintain the shop’s reputation through professional and respectful communication. 

Inventory and Visual Merchandising 

  • Manage inventory by proactively communicating stock levels to the owner. ● Oversee returns, exchanges, or damages. 
  • Create visually appealing displays and maintain the shop’s appearance. Promotions and Marketing 
  • Communicate in-store promotions to staff and customers. 
  • Occasionally assist with social media content creation, including filming in-store with new arrivals. 

Administrative Duties 

  • Handle daily cash management and sales reporting. 
  • Oversee staff payroll and manage budgets. 

Qualifications and Skills 

Experience 

  • 2-3 years of work experience preferred (customer-facing roles or retail experience a plus). 
  • Prior management or fashion boutique experience preferred but not required. Education 
  • No formal education required. Must be proficient in inventory management and computer use. 

Skills 

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Familiarity with social media and marketing (preferred but not required). ● Competency with computers for inputting inventory and sales data. 

Languages 

  • Krio: Required 
  • English: Preferred 

Work Environment and Conditions 

  • Hours: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday-Saturday 
  • Physical Demands: Standing for long periods, lifting merchandise as needed. ● Dress Code: Professional attire required.

  • Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
