countries in Africa. We seek a suitable candidate to fill the following position:
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER INTERN
The position will report to the Product Manager – Fintech Group/ Uganda.
Responsibilities:
The intern will be exposed in the following areas with guidance of the team leader;
 Evaluate, assess and recommend software and hardware solutions
 Forecast impact and time needed for component changes comprising of bug fixes and
new features
 Evaluate software requirements to identify system design feasibility within time and cost
constraints
 Coordinate with other developers and software professionals
 Involved in every phase of software development life cycle inclusive of requirements
analysis, design, coding, integration, testing, data migration and deployment
 Development and refinement of prototypes to confirm requirements
 Develop software, architecture, specifications and interfaces (user, technical, demos)
 Perform with documentation team to create documents and integrate help files
 Prepare documentation, test cases and training materials as needed
 Develop concise and clear technical documents on basis of evaluation of business and
functional requirements
 Testing including defining acceptance testing and gathering feedback from pre-release
testers
 Participation in software releases including support for product launch evangelism
(developing demos) and competitive analysis for subsequent product release cycles
 Perform with software test team to review test plans, test cases and resolve defects found
while testing

 Maintenance and enhancement of software to cope with defects and new requirements
 Comply with project timelines, respond and resolve technical issues
 Operate functions with broad direction and need minimal supervision
 Involve in formal reviews of business, designs and functional requirements
 Ensure project attains quality standards by complying with procedures to plan, design
and implement tests on all projects
 Stimulate teamwork, motivate and spirit partnership with project team, business and
systems partners
 Perform with guidance on complicated and multiple project assignments

Qualification & skills
 Diploma in IT/Software Engineering preferred or equivalent. Diploma holders should
have excelled in Mathematics and possess 3-6 months prior experience.
 Understanding of the Software Lifecycle, Machine Architecture, Relational Databases,
Objected-oriented programming and Flowcharts
 To possess skills in HTML, DHTML, the .Net Framework, Java, VB.Net, C#, PHP,
ASP, C++
 To possess skills in Intranets and internet applications development projects
 Knowledge in SQL, Oracle Databases and other databases
 Hands on experience with Computer programs
