We seek a dedicated and passionate Spanish and French teacher at the MYP and DP level. This role would teach Spanish ab initio at the DP level and French at the MYP level. Applicants should possess a degree in languages or Language education, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. As part of the philosophy at UWCEA all secondary teachers have a portion of their teaching allotment set aside for working in the residential setting. This is a full-time position on our Moshi Campus starting in August 2024.

It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty-five years of age who have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience.

As a minimum requirement, all applicants for teaching positions must have a first degree and a teaching qualification that entitles them to teach in their home country. International teaching experience is also desired. All teachers of diploma level subjects are required to have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at a similar level, such as IB Diploma, AP, or Advanced Level experience.

For many teaching positions, experience of teaching IB PYP, MYP or Diploma (as appropriate) will be a significant advantage, but is not specifically required.
