Overall Job Purpose
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, clean, and analyse data from various sources within the mine.
- Develop and maintain data dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in mining processes.
- Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from disparate systems and sources.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data collection systems and data quality control procedures.
- Translate complex data findings into clear and concise reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Data Superintendent to prioritize data projects that align with business improvement goals.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and mining operations.
Specific Competencies
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets and assist drive data-influenced decisions.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Experience required to perform in this job
At least 3 years’ proven experience in mining or associated industries with a track-record of delivering recognised projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, BSc Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Microsoft Certified Data Engineer an added advantage.
