As Specialist in Pediatrics & Child Health, you will provide high quality clinical pediatric care to children and newborns. You will examine patients, obtain medical history, and perform a wide range of tests during OPD consultations and ward rounds; You assess (pre/post-) surgical requirements.
You implement the standards of care and promote perinatal care. You collaborate with colleagues to plan treatment, both medical and nonmedical if need be. You participate in perinatal, natal, and post natal audits.
You will conduct on the job training programs for newborn care in the neonatal unit/postnatal wards. Support the implementation of standard operating procedures for essential newborn care, newborn resuscitation, support implementation of kangaroo mother care and infection prevention practices
Furthermore, you will be part of the on-call team and rotate in on-call duties and therefore preparedness to work in weekends and on emergency is an important aspect of the job.

The candidate
- MD with Master’s Degree (MMeD) in Pediatrics and Child Health from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the medical council of Tanganyika and in possession of a valid license to practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
- Excellent patient management and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate.
