The incumbent will be responsible for having a huge impact on everything from the functionality we deliver for our customers, to the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms, code we employ and mapping business requirements into system functionality. Moreover, understand the business requirements, to create technology solutions and designs that ensures quality data and systems in support of the business. Solutions must align to IT best practices and support the availability expectations of the portfolio. Documentation standards must be maintained and enhanced as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Analysis 

• Analyse requirements in terms of feasibility, impact and cost with a focus on re-use of an approach or solution
• Contribute to lower costs by performing in-depth analysis of solutions
• Evaluate proposed solutions from vendors prior to development and ensure that the most feasible solution that meets the business requirements is selected
• Ensure the technical solution meets business requirements by participating in design workshops and mapping solution back to the requirements
• Show an understanding of the system and influence the system rules, data flow and relationship between system entities
• Identify and establish performance metrics and measurements

System Analysis

• Pre-empt issues and action mitigation plans to avert these
• Understanding the project and business’ requirements and evaluating all the options to identify potential solutions to support the requirements based on facts;
• Interaction with stakeholders conducting requirements analysis and providing input on system analysis and solution designs;
• Produce and/or modify system-, technical- and/or design specifications;
• Review solution development deliverables throughout the system lifecycle for compliance to architecture principles and standards;
• Ensure that Vodacom’s policies and procedures are fully understood and aligned to technology implementations

Governance

• Ensure compliance to related governance and security requirements

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

• Matric/ Grade 12 is essential.
• A 3-year IT or IS degree or diploma or similar related field is essential.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of systems/business analysis experience with at least 3 years technical roles.
• Relevant cloud certification at the professional or associate level is desirable.
