Job description

A construction company based in Harare seeks to recruit a construction Stores Clerk for a position that has arisen in its structure. Demonstrated expertise with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in this role within the construction Industry
Role Purpose:
You will oversee and manage the construction site and ensure that the tools, equipment, and several other materials that are used in construction projects are safe, secure, well-maintained, and well-managed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the following:

1. Maintains an efficient and effective storeroom operation by following procedures to receive, unpack’ inventory, store (as necessary), account for, and issue all building supplies and equipment.
2. Monitoring inventory levels and raise purchase requisition for stock as needed
3. Conducts cyclic, special, and other inventories, identifies discrepancies and report them.
4. Follow up on all raised purchase requisition and ensuring a timeous delivery.
5. Preparing ,undertaking stock takes and records management
6. Issuing of tools on a daily basis and keep a register.
7. Coordinating periodic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment
8. Contributes to an accident-free work environment by keeping the stores area clean, and orderly, properly storing materials, solvents, and chemicals.
9. Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
10. Assists and ensuring that the Construction team have adequate and appropriate construction stock and mechanical supplies by maintaining a perpetual inventory of all such materials stored in the department and reordering as necessary.
11. Contributes to the overall success of the Construction Team by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics and English Language
• At least a diploma in Stores Management or equivalent
• Membership of an appropriate professional body eg CIPS is an added advantage
• Computer literacy. Knowledge of Stores Management Software is an added advantage.
• Equipment required PC/Laptop
