Job description

The role of a Supplies Officer is to undertake all daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, maintain a high inventory accuracy level and securing the warehouse. S/he oversees customer service and supply activities within Kenya Airways stores and ensuring the delivery of the operational aspects of the supply function with a strong focus on safety, excellence and integrity.

Responsibilities  

  • Physical receipt of stocks as per approved purchase orders and to KQ specifications and quality standards.
  • Receive and verify stock returns from outstations and credit back into the system for accountability.
  • Process issuance of goods against approved requisitions and that transactions are done real time
  • Ensures warehouse procedures and policies are adhered to and maintain accountability and security.
  • Carry out stock counts, Cycle Counts and Spot Checks and reconciliation of the differences for stock accountability to ensure 100% stock accuracy
  • Identification of obsolete stocks and preparation of report   for action by relevant committees as well as the management
  • Compilation of various stock reports for management review
  • Ensure outstations demands are met satisfactorily and on time.
  • Ensuring movement of all products is correctly and properly documented.

Job Requirements        

  • Bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
  • Previous experience as a warehouse officer or a similar position.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
  • 4 yrs. experience in warehouse Management or Supply Chain environment.
  • Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
