Maintaining safe and clean swimming pools and the surrounding areas, controlling pool chemicals and ensuring availability of equipment and supplies. The Swimming Pool Attendant will be reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool areas at all times, perform daily vacuuming and cleaning of the pools
- Monitoring pool chemistry levels to ensure that they are within the safe limits of chemical elements such as chlorine and Ph levels to maintain water quality;
- Cleaning and maintaining the pool equipment such filters, pumps and pool heaters;
- Perform routine maintenance of pool equipment and report any issues accordingly;
- Testing the water temperature and make the necessary adjustments.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi Schools Certificate of Education or its equivalent;
- Aquatics qualifications
- At least three years’ experience in lifeguarding and aquatics

- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Swimming proficiency and comfortable in all types of water conditions;
- Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions;
- Ability to work with children and young people in a positive manner;
- A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures;
- Good time management and organizational skills;
- Knowledge of pool equipment and safety measures.
