Key objectives for this role include:
- Develop, coordinate and manage an Integrated/multi-sectoral response project leading to resilience in line with the proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Manage, train, equip and develop the locally recruited project staff.
- To switch programming from General Food Distribution into more resilience programming such as FFA, cash for work and other more sustainable programme gradually.
- Ensure high technical quality, transparent and self-explanatory processes.
- Adherence to Food Security tools and handbooks and other NRC policies.
- Represent Food Security Rapid Response in internal and external forums.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Recruitment, training and management of the team in gap analysis, need assessment, conducting registration, receiving commodities and distributing to beneficiaries in hard-to-reach locations adversely affected by the conflict.
- Review the team requirement (equipment, trainings and security analysis) based on the NRC ambition to be the leading displacement organization working in Hard-to-reach areas.
- Lead the grants start up meeting, prepare work plan, procurement plan, HR plan and spending plan for every newly approved project in consultation with the field team.
- In Coordination with the team and Finance Manager, ensure, invoices along with the support documents are submitted to WFP on time.
- Develop NRC Internal Framework for Food Security assessment and emergency related interventions.
What you will bring:
Generic professional competencies:
- Relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in food security.
- 5 years of experience from working as a Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Technical expertise in Emergency Food Security and Livelihood required with flexibility to more resilient programming moving from General food distribution to more longer-term programming.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

- Knowledge of the context in South Sudan.
- Experience with start-up, exit or similar.
- Solid understanding and experience of crisis contexts and working in complex emergencies.

- Duty station: Koch/Central Unity (Leer and Koch), South Sudan.
- Contract: national contract, 12 months (extendable upon funds avalability)
- Salary/benefits: grade 8 on NRC’s salary scale.
