Key duties and responsibilities:
The job holder will be responsible for the following duties.
- Preparing work orders and summary maintenance reports of work done.
- Ensure vehicle availability is maintained at a consistently high level by prompt repairs and proper management of downtime.
- Ensure all purchases of motor vehicle spares are made as per Company guidelines and approved procedures.
- Carrying out diagnostics and troubleshooting of faults of the vehicles and auxiliaries
- Coordinating routine vehicle repair and maintenance activities and ensuring efficient coordination of all vehicle repairs in Company workshop and contracted garages to maintain high standards on all company vehicles.
- Constantly monitoring and improving the standard of housekeeping in company locations designated for motor vehicles /workshop.
- Maintaining an inventory, register of all transport workshop tools and equipment’s and making recommendation for new requirements/replacements to the Transport Maintenance Officer
Educational Requirements Job Experience/Qualifications
- Must be a holder of O-level certificate with a mean score of C (plain) and at least a C- (Minus) and above in Mathematics and Physics subjects.
- Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a final certificate from the national examining body (KNEC)
- Registration as a certified engineering technician with KETRB/EBK is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience in a motor vehicle maintenance set up is an added advantage.
- Knowledge in SAP PM module will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computer application skills.
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
