Qualifications, experience and attributes
Must have at least a BSc and HND in applied and analytical chemistry, agrochemicals
development, chemical engineering or related field.
Responsibilities
Candidates should be able to collect samples from variety of sources (eg water, soil, air,
plants) including utilizing proper sampling collection and handling techniques.
To perform accurate and precise chemical analyses of samples.
To operate, maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and equipment.
To use computer, spread sheets and data management systems for recordkeeping,
reporting and data analyses.
To prepare testing media and reagents.
To keep accurate and legible records.
To prepare and supervise students practicals.
To conduct chemical analyses of soil and plant materials for fertilizer recommendations.
To provide community outreach in the field of environmental and soil chemistry and soil
fertility.
To initiate and implement research and development programs in the field of environmental
and soil chemistry and soil fertility.
