Qualifications, experience and attributes
 Must have at least a BSc or HND in microbiology, applied microbiology, biology or related
field.
Responsibilities
 Candidates should be able to collect samples from variety of sources (eg water, soil, air,
plants) including utilizing proper sampling collection and handling techniques.
 To perform accurate and precise chemical analyses of samples.
 To operate, maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and equipment.
 To use computer, spread sheets and data management systems for recordkeeping,
reporting and data analyses.
 To prepare testing media and reagents.
 To keep accurate and legible records.
 To prepare and supervise student’s practical’s.
 To prepare chemical and reagent solutions, extracts and dilutions to specifications.
 To culture and cultivate various soil microorganisms.
 To Provide community outreach in the field of environmental and soil and environmental
microbiology.
