The successful candidate will oversee the project’s implementation at the health facility level. The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for the implementation of laboratory aspects of the surveillance project at the health facility level. This will involve collecting biological specimens (blood and swabs), conducting bedside rapid tests, processing biological specimens, and documenting laboratory results.
Requirements
Education:
- A diploma in laboratory technology and current registration as a laboratory technologist with KMLTTB
Experience, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working at or with public health facilities in Kenya.
- Proficiency in Somali, English and Kiswahili languages
- Previous public health surveillance or research experience would be an added advantage.
- Ability to manage research at facility-level.
- The Laboratory Technologist will have experience working effectively as a part of diverse staff teams, and contributing to successful collaborations with ministries of health and working with Garissa County hospital is an added advantage
