Reporting to the Process Training Coordinator you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for Process operations, Mineral Process Apprentices and in-service personnel.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver engaging and informative training sessions to new process operators, Apprentices as well as existing staff to ensure they understand the procedures, safety protocols, and best practices in copper processing.
- Assess the knowledge, skills, and performance of trainees through quizzes, practical exercises, and evaluations to ensure they meet the required competency levels.
- Continuously review and update training programs and materials based on feedback, new technologies, and industry best practices to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Emphasize and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards during training sessions to instil a culture of safety among operators.
- Possess the ability to interpret and analyze metallurgical data and process operational equipment.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to operators, assisting them in troubleshooting issues, optimizing processes, and addressing challenges encountered during operations.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, trainee progress, and performance evaluations. Generate reports to track training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with plant management and department heads to identify training needs, align training programs with organizational goals, and ensure the efficient operation of the copper processing plant.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to new operators, offering guidance, support, and encouragement as they develop their skills and advance in their roles.
- Foster open communication channels with operators, management, and other relevant stakeholders to address concerns, gather feedback, and promote a positive learning environment.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
- Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Metallurgy/Mineral processing
- Diploma in Teaching Methodology and must be accredited with TEVETA as a Trainer, Assessor and examiner.
- SAQA / Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment/ Train the Trainer training qualification (or equivalent) an added advantage.
- Minimum Five(5) years’ working experience.
- Must have Experience working in large base metal processing plant
- Possess adequate knowledge of Learning Management system (LMS)
- Member of The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ & ERB)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
