The Training Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs, focusing on sustainable agriculture, forestry, and environmental conservation. The role involves hands-on field activities, technical training delivery, coordination of training materials, and monitoring of training impact in alignment with organizational objectives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in implementing daily agricultural activities, including planting, weeding, crop maintenance, harvesting, compost management, irrigation system maintenance, and livestock care.
- Support the propagation and management of seedlings for various projects and partner initiatives.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of the Forest Garden Demonstration Site.
- Conduct field training observations and facilitate field surveys across multiple projects.
- Assist in training seed vendors and conducting field-based seed quality assessments.
- Monitor and provide ongoing support for nursery performance in different projects.
- Support the Country Trainer in delivering training programs, coordinating site visits, and engaging with visitors.
- Plan and execute Training of Trainers (TOTs) sessions for newly recruited technicians, partners, and institutional stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and refining training modules and activities in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
- Train participants on using the Forest Garden Training Center (FGTC) App for monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
- Maintain accurate training records, including participant attendance, progress tracking, and certification records.
- Assist in administering Forest Garden certification tests and evaluating participant competency.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of partner post-training work plans.
- Assist in the creation and localization of training materials to ensure cultural and environmental relevance
- Document and promote the adoption of innovative training technologies and facilitation tools.
- Research and recommend best practices to enhance training effectiveness and engagement.
- Maintain and manage the database of TOT participants, partners, and FGTC App users.
- Ensure timely submission of financial and programmatic training reports to the Country Trainer.
- Assist in budget planning, management, and expenditure tracking for training activities.
- Provide relevant data, insights, and support for additional tasks as assigned.

ROLE REQUIRMENTS
- University degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Education, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in training, agricultural extension, or environmental conservation projects.
