The Treasury Manager (Fixed Income & Alco) will report to the Head of Treasuryand will be based at Head office. He/she is responsible for managing the treasury functions of Pride and maximizing yield while ensuring adequate liquidity and compliance to ALCO and other relevant
policies.
Specific responsibilities include: –
a) Review and analyze extracted cash and bank balances.
b) Review the updated list of investments.
c) Forecast daily cash requirements and recommend cash transfers to
branches.
d) Evaluate, develop, and implement cash management systems.
e) Trade in forex and purchase of currencies and invest surplus liquidity
balance to optimize incomes.
f) Invest funds in approved securities to maximize yield.
g) Monitor and trade in investment portfolios.
h) Ensure accuracy of investment database.
i) Review and recommend changes to the policies based on market
conditions.
j) Negotiate competitive investment rates.
k) Review reconciled investment schedules of maturities.
l) Prepare and submit ALCO reports to management.
m) Review treasury manual to comply with BOU regulations and guidelines.
n) Carry out research and reviews of prevailing product prices and appraise new products.
o) Spearhead the pricing of both assets & liabilities processes.
p) Ensure an active contingency plan is in place & tested.
q) Assist in capital planning.
r) Monitor loan to deposit ratio to ensure compliance with BOU regulations.
s) Support with Audit and other assurance arms
t) Conduct benchmark studies of other financial institutions and their services
to evaluate Pride’s position.
u) Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues.
v) Identify skill and competency gaps and recommend appropriate training and
development.
w) Certify the paperwork for mobile money transfers.
x) Approve mobile money transfers on the system.
y) Ensure compliance to Bank of Uganda liquidity ratio especially LCR and
NSFR.
z) Maintain healthy relationships with other stakeholders.
Minimum Academic qualifications,
Experience & competence: –
➢ Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field majoring in accounting or finance.
➢ Professional qualification ACCA/CPA
➢ Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
➢ At least four years’ experience in a financial institution preferably in
finance or treasury departments department.
➢ Negotiation and analytical skills.
➢ Financial Management skills.
