The Treatment Plant Controller shall provide support to the Quality & operations Department by independently overseeing the operation, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting of the effluent treatment facility/plant (Aerobic and anaerobic) and its processes to ensure waste water meets legal requirements. He/She shall be fully responsible for the management of all ETP Operations and team.

  • Uphold work area cleanliness at all times Cleaning is the responsibility of all employees and should not be the soul responsibility of “Cleaners”. Each person is responsible for the cleanliness of their own work area. (Cleaning @ Source) 
  • Promote & abide by food safety and quality guidelines. (Not allowed to work in any area unless trained in safety and food safety Requirements.
  • Prioritize Occupational health & Safety and environment standards in adherence to company policies & procedures. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Authority: 
  • Management and supervision of the day-to-day functioning/operation of the effluent treatment plant.
  • To ensure management of inventory items required for day to day operations. Ordering, receiving and consumption of all consumables and equipment.
  • Management of entire operations including sampling, preparation of samples and testing as well as ensure complete adherence of the QCs to the established sampling and testing plans and working instructions/procedures. 
  • Plan, develop and execute preventive maintenance plan of all machines and equipments as per OEM recommendations. 
  • Troubleshoot of any problem regarding the operation of the plant and execution of required correction to ensure continuity and smooth ETP operations as per legal requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to ETP personnel; train, and demonstrate laboratory protocols and methods, proper use of equipment and machinery, and appropriate safety procedures.
  • Provide methodological leadership and instruction to ETP staff. Provide daily guidelines and instructions to QC staff and ensuring to execute the same.
  • Develop quality standards and programs; monitor and maintain quality of ETP operations and performance of ETP staff in compliance with lab recognition standard.
  • Establish yearly competence testing programs for all ETP personnel in liaison with the lab coordinator, Quality supervisors and Quality Control Manager.
  • Authorize to stop the plant and improvise the changes in case operational deviation after consulting with QCM. 
  • Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 
    • A Bachelor’s degree in environment, Chemistry, chemical engineering or any other related field from a recognized university. 
    • A minimum of 6 years’ hand on experience on ETP operations (Both aerobic and anaerobic) in a busy environment.
    Key Requirements: 
    • Detailed knowledge about laboratory tests, reagents and equipment’s calibration/maintenance.
    • Expert in analytical techniques and basic operations of ETP.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
    • Basic computer skills and report writing. 
    • Training in Food Safety and Hygiene handling techniques.
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
    • Basic knowledge in management system implementation.
    • Training in Food Safety, Hygiene handling techniques and ISO 17025
