About the Role

The Field Manager will be assigned to the Trees department, reporting directly to the Impact and Execution Senior Coordinator, and will supervise 8 field officers and their farmer group leaders, ensuring field activities are carried out across all parishes under your supervision. You will support the Eastern Region Program to expand its operations to different parishes in Jinja, Iganga, and Bugweri district to serve 18,000+ Farmers across 35 sites.

Responsibilities

  • Expand Eastern Region Program operations to different parishes to serve 18,000+ farmers
  • Manage 8 Field Officers
  • Conduct regular visits across the operational sites and support Field Officers and their Group leaders to resolve operational challenges
  • Lead POD planning and strategy setting, including field operation and staff development logistics
  • Promote achievement of All set Field targets (Enrollment, trainings, Input sales, and Market Access) in each site across your Sector.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Excellent field execution
  • At least 2 years of experience in field Operations or Extension services.
  • Knowledge of the coffee value chain
  • Ability to cover large distances by road daily
  • At least 6 months of experience in Field Team management
  • Ability to lead Field team strategies. You constantly look for alternative solutions to problems
  • Diploma in Agriculture or a Bachelor’s degree in any related field
  • Geographical knowledge of one of the locations ( Jinja, Iganga, and Bugweri)
  • Fluent in English and Lusoga
