The candidate will be responsible for designing and fabrication of Aircrafts seat Linen Curtains and carpets per lad down standards projecting good image of Kenya airways whilst maintain KCAA requirements.
Principal Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
- Designing and fabricating aircrafts (all types) seat according to the seat structure.
- Drafting patterns, materials cutting and Productivity samples
- Allocation and supervision of multiple team’s activities.
- Carpeting aircrafts this includes; drafting, cutting pieces and edge locking and fitting in the aircraft.
- Maintenance of aircraft seats frames by designing Velcro and fitting and replacing worn outs.
- Manufacturing Spare seat covers and supplying them to stores for storage for all Kenya Airways Aircrafts.
- Manufacturing Aircraft curtains by designing, drafting, and cutting according to the aircraft types, stitching press buttoning and fitting it to the aircraft.
- Repairing Worn out soundproof Covers.
- Manufacturing demo kit bags, baby bassinets and magazine pockets.
- Safety Belt Color Coding.
- Ensuring each fleet has clean spare seats cover on board all the time.
- Replacing soiled or damaged linen in aircrafts at hangar for casualty maintenance.
- Collecting clean seat covers and curtains from Laundry, sorting, scrapping, tagging them with Part numbers and arranging as Aircraft Type and Packing them for storage in stores.
Job Requirements
Qualification (Minimum)
- Diploma in tailoring and Dress making or its equivalent.
- Holds Government Trade Test 2 in tailoring and Dress making.
- 2 years working in a busy Upholstery shop.
