Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for a Wide Area Network (WAN) Technician. This resource will be working at our client site in South Sudan.
Job Responsibilities:
The contracted personnel will be required to maintain and ensure maximum uptime of the client equipment/server rooms with due regard to data integrity and security.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installation and maintenance of all hardware and software;
• Install, configure and optimize operating systems;
• Install, test and document security patches;
• Basic installation, configuration and maintenance of networking equipment consisting of switches, routers and wireless devices;
• Develop, test, document, implement and enhance backup and recover procedures;
• Develop, document, implement and enhance applications change management procedures and activities;
• Manage and administer all system users;
• Maintain and document all system users for audit trail;
• Monitor user activity compliance with ICT policies and procedures;
• Monitor all software and hardware products ensuring compliance to client standards and systems;
• Monitor and troubleshoot, when necessary, network connectivity of all hardware and software;
• Arranging for repair of hardware during failures;
• Creating filesystem;
• Administration and maintenance of all servers;
• Maintain software and back media libraries.
Areas of contribution
• Ensure all database and servers are up and running 24/7;
• Ensure data integrity and security;
• Secure the equipment/server room physically;
• Ensure connectivity, cooling and proper power are available in the equipment/server room;
• Provide tier 2 support to Service Desk and Field Offices as required;
• Perform other duties as required.
Technical knowledge required
• Maintaining HP 3PAR, Synergy, DL 380 G10 servers, 2040/4330/4500/4730 SAN storage, 6600 switch, Virtual Connect and others required;
• Maintaining VMware replication between equipment/server rooms for disaster recover and business continuity (DRBC) using VMware Replication appliance such as HP 2040 SAN Storage, Veritas, Symantec backup systems and tape management;
• Providing full range of assistance on the operation and administration of virtual infrastructure such as VMware Simplivity, Esxi, vCenter, VDI, Active Directory, IP address, DNS, DHCP, internet proxy settings, Symantec Enterprise Product antivirus and Microsoft Defender;
• Monitoring and deploying Office 365 and Windows update via Microsoft SCCM;
• Providing assistance and support for Microsoft Outlook;
• Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of data security projects relating to Cisco and Checkpoint appliances covering secure data tunnels, secure remote access, content filtering, secure wireless networks, network access control, VPN and VLAN.

Education and other requirements:
• Must have a first level university degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical or related field;
• Must have at least 5 years of working experience relating to the required technical knowledge above;
• Must have a national driver’s license and able to drive a light motor vehicle with manual transmission;
• Must be fluent in English, both written and oral;
• Microsoft and other industry standard certifications are desirable.
