Malawi National Commission for UNESCO (MNCU) was established on 23rd March 1979 through
Malawi Government Gazette Notice No. 375 in line with Article VII of the Constitution of the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the purpose of linking
UNESCO with The Government of Malawi through principal bodies in UNESCO’s fields of competence
(i.e., Education, Natural Science, Social Sciences, Culture, Communication and Information).
The Malawi National Commission for UNESCO (MNCU) under its Natural Sciences Commission, with
support from UNESCO, is implementing a pilot project whose aim is to build the capacity of young
women in science at the beginning of their careers. One of the activities in the project involves the
delivery of training sessions on leadership (in person) and later a series of virtual training sessions on
research, data analysis and other related thematic areas.
Scope of Work
The workshop facilitators will prepare training materials, facilitate the training sessions, and conduct
an evaluation of the training at the end of each session in the following thematic areas ; leadership,
fundraising, research, data collection and project management and related thematic areas
Qualifications And Experience
- A minimum of a Master’sD egree in a relevant field
- Three years’ experience in delivering similar assignments
