Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Consultant will be expected to fulfill the following tasks:
OMCC:
- Assist the SMCC team in collecting material for reporting to the Council of Delegates in 2024, especially data related to large-scale emergencies.
- Automize reporting system for the SMCC team in updating the MCO pool.
- Utilize the data gathered along with the existing documentation to assist the SMCC team in preparing the upcoming MCO workshop (early 2024).
- Assist with special focus on arranging meetings of the Movement Implementation Teams and provide them with admin support.
- Update and maintain the SMCC website.
- Support the New WoW Global Support Group with data gathering automatization regarding updates from the 14 pilot National Societies.
- Support the OMMC team in any additional way required.
USG Office:
- Gather information on issues affecting the humanitarian situation including political, social, and economic developments and report on a biweekly basis.
- Critical analysis and review of trends on the humanitarian landscape to inform strategies and approaches contributing to key decision making and the IFRCs agenda for renewal.
- Support the review of the country risk dashboard.
Education
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Communications, Data Management or in a similar, relevant area.
Experience
Required
- Previous experience working for the IFRC.
Knowledge, Skills and Languages
Required
- Fluently spoken and written English.
Preferred
- Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic).
